2013 was a mixed year.

THE GOOD
One year ago I started riding for the KMP. This meant new bikes, new clothes, and the chance to ride on ALL DAY EVERY DAY

I’ve had a number of OK race results including the Lakeland 50 – I didn’t think I could have ran that far, let alone finish joint 13th.

#eurotrip over the summer was a little bit of fun.

THE BAD
This didn’t make it into the final edit of ALL DAY EVERY DAY

THE UGLY
Punctures.

This is the first year I’ve been hit with punctures while racing that have, in two cases, lost me the win.
It was also when on normal rides. Being stranded 20miles from home with no tube and a ripped sidewall. Not ideal.

2014

The new year started well.
I spent most of November and December out of the country meaning time off the bike. Still managed it get in some runs.

After getting back to the UK I had some time off and spent a few days riding around glentress. A nice break.

Over Christmas and new year I managed to get out most days even if the weather was a little cold! The riding on Christmas morning was a little … Let’s say sketchy.

The cross bike also made an appearance on one of my favourite ‘leg burning’ rides taking in an hour of old railway lines in the north east.

INTO THE FUTURE

With trips already booked to USA in February and then a guaranteed trip to Chamonix for the CCC (100km of running – sh#t) late summer, things are starting to plan out.
There’ll be a few more trips to China to negotiate and where to fit in the #eurotrip. I’ll hopefully do more of the nutcracker XC series this year and then another different event for me – the Fred whitton. A road sportive thing… I know. ROAD! Crazy.
… And I can’t miss out entering a gravity enduro…

Now it’s time to leave China and get some sleep.
